What Google user data we access

When you choose to sign in with Google, and only with your consent granted through Google’s OAuth consent screen, we access basic Google Account profile information associated with the openid, email, and profile scopes:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your profile picture (avatar)
  • Your basic profile details and language/locale preference
  • Your Google Account identifier (a unique ID used to link your sign-in to your TenGate Portal account)

We do not request or access your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Contacts, Calendar, location history, or any other restricted or sensitive Google data.

How we use Google user data

We use the Google user data described above solely to: (a) create, authenticate, and secure your TenGate Portal account; (b) identify you and populate your profile (name, email, avatar) inside the app; (c) communicate with you about your account, tasks, and projects; and (d) operate, maintain, and improve the service. We do not use Google user data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who we share, transfer, or disclose Google user data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade Google user data. We disclose it only in the limited circumstances below:

  • Service providers / subprocessors: cloud hosting, database, and authentication infrastructure providers that operate the TenGate Portal on our behalf, strictly to provide the service and under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Members of your workspace: teammates you invite may see your basic profile (such as your name and email) as needed for collaboration within your account.
  • Legal and safety: when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TenGate, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We do not transfer Google user data to third parties for their own independent purposes, and any transfer to service providers is limited to what is necessary to provide the requested service.

How we protect Google user data and other sensitive data

We protect Google user data and other sensitive information using industry-standard safeguards, including: encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and encryption at rest; the OAuth 2.0 authorization protocol (we never receive or store your Google password); access controls and least-privilege permissions so that only authorized personnel who need the data to operate the service can access it; secure, access-controlled hosting; monitoring and logging; and periodic security reviews. We store access and refresh tokens securely and revoke them when they are no longer needed.

Retention and deletion of Google user data

We retain Google user data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and to meet legitimate legal, accounting, or operational requirements. You can control and remove this data at any time:

  • Revoke access at any time from your Google Account under Security › Third-party access (myaccount.google.com/permissions). This disconnects TenGate from your Google Account.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated Google user data by emailing [email protected]. After we verify your request, we will delete the associated Google user data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
  • When you disconnect or delete your account, we delete or de-identify the associated Google user data and revoke stored tokens.

TenGate’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy for details.
